Hurricane Matthew

Charleston, SC was mostly a ghost town today except for the occasional local stretching their legs before being forced indoors for 24+ hours or store owners boarding up their shops in final preparation for the arrival of Hurricane Matthew. While deep down my sincere hope is that the city and its inhabitants will be spared any real damage from the approaching storm, I can't deny that the introverted artist in me loves these quite moments before the storm -- where the streets are deserted and quiet and bare. If anything, these photos convey that no city could look as beautiful boarded up and blocked off as this one. Much love, dear Charleston. This too, we shall survive. x
